This is servo control for reciprocating carriage having saw, press, milling, or other tool on it, which runs back-and-forth along a running strip of material. The controller makes a numerical command to the reciprocating carriage, compares the command to numerical feedback information from carriage and measuring roll. When a target position approaches, the carriage accelerates and synchronizes with running material. While the tool on the carriage moves with full synchronization, working is done and carriage returns to its home position.
In order to cut-to-length a continuous running material, a velocity of cutting saw must synchronizes with material precisely, also at the same time positioning for cutting point and then cuts the material. A solution brings reciprocating cut-off in two divided mechanism having each servo motor, one is carriage moving for back-and-forth direction with motor drive makes saw fly in synchronizing positioning motion, and the other is sawfeed moving for back-and-forth direction with motor drive makes saw up-down in cutting motion.
